Corrections
If something is wrong — a match result, a biographical date, a rating figure, an opening classification — send the article URL, the specific claim, and the primary source that contradicts it. We'll verify against the source, update the article, and add a correction note to the piece. Corrections with no source provided take longer to process, since we have to track the primary reference ourselves.
The bar for a correction is a primary source: an official FIDE record, a tournament bulletin, a published game score, a contemporaneous newspaper report. "I read somewhere that..." doesn't move the queue.
Primary source tips
If you have access to a primary source we haven't used — an archival game score, a tournament bulletin not in the public record, a direct interview transcript, a scanned historical document — that's exactly the kind of thing worth a note. We'll credit the source in the article if the material is used, or in the acknowledgments if it informs the reporting without direct quotation.
If you're sending scanned documents or photographs, include attribution and license terms so the material can be credited and reused correctly.
What we don't respond to
Guest post pitches, link exchange proposals, and outreach campaigns don't get responses. The site doesn't publish external contributions, and we're not interested in reciprocal arrangements. No hard feelings — it's just not how the site works.
